PORTAGE, Mich. — For the 25th time, the Portage Invitational made its way to West Middle School for an event that's busier than any school day of the year: 234 competing cross country teams with over 6,100 athletes trekked around the school grounds across 17 different races. Beginning with a Glory Days 5K for anyone aged out of the competing age groups, the day culminated with the Reserve Men's runs for Divisions 1 and 2, with the final race beginning at 4 p.m. It's one of the only sports that you can go out for it, and you don't get cut.
