KALAMAZOO, MI — After two years in which restaurant closings were nearly as common as restaurant openings in Kalamazoo County, the news was much better for entrepreneurs in 2022.The Kalamazoo Gazette/MLive only reported on two permanent closures this year for longtime restaurants in the county, Food Dance and Niko's Express. A third, Quekas Authentic Mexican Restaurant, had a fire in September and has been closed since.There are at least 26 restaurants that opened their doors in the past year and are now serving the community.
