ONEKAMA — Mary Reed, of Onekama, recently received the 2022 National Garden Club Member of Honor Award. The award recognizes members whose volunteer efforts during a period of five or more years resulted in outstanding contributions to their club and community. There are approximately 165,000 National Garden Club members and Reed is one of only seven recipients of the award. Reed joined the Portage Lake Garden Club in 2004 and is a master gardener with advanced certification. She is an avid environmentalist with a long history of bringing people together to listen, collaborate and improve the community.
